Principal and Founder of Vogt Engineering, L.P.

A practicing professional engineer for over thirty years, David Vogt’s strong strategic problem solving skills and excellent ability to resolve complex projects have resulted in a variety of successful projects throughout East Texas.

His experience includes over 40 years in civil engineering, site design, soils investigation, environmental risk assessment, water distribution and supply, storm water drainage, flood plain determination, and coordination of utility system approvals with local and state agencies, underground utilities, and roads.

Founder and Principal of Vogt Engineering, L.P., David has been an active participant in the growth of Montgomery County beginning with his role as Assistant County Engineer in the early 80’s.  Since 1983, Vogt Engineering has provided civil design for many of the trademark buildings in the county.



A graduate of Purdue University, Mr. Van Dusen has over 15 years of engineering experience with the majority of those years specific to Montgomery County.  His background in quality engineering translates into an ability to streamline procedures based on data patterns.  This results in project execution that is efficient and timely.

Sergio has provided site design and project management for site design projects, as well as, public works projects including road reconstruction, major water and sewer projects, and subdivision projects.

With a diverse and strong technical background, Sergio is proficient in site design, drainage design, permitting and approval requirements, opinions of cost and contract management.  His experience includes church sites, retail and office commercial projects, industrial projects, detention ponds, storm sewers, public water lines, public sewer lines, road reconstruction, and lift/pump stations.  With excellent communication and problem solving skills, Sergio brings depth and versatility to his clients.


Liz Rivera, E.I.T.
Graduate Engineer

Ms. Rivera obtained her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of South Florida in 2011. She also has 13 years combined experience in marketing, advertising, and project management.

Since joining Vogt Engineering in March of 2013, Liz has provided storm calculations, detention modeling and design, and prepared engineering reports. She is committed to utilizing her skills in project management, client services and creative problem-solving to provide exemplary customer service.

As Graduate Engineer, Liz combines her project management experience and communication skills to drive project deliverables.  She is responsible for tracking project deadlines, tracking agency submittals, easement creation and abandonment, contract deliverables, stormwater pollution prevention plans, grading design, detention modeling, and technical reporting.

Robby Saavedra, E.I.T.
Graduate Engineer

Ms. Saavedra graduated from New Mexico State University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology.  With 7 years of experience in analysis and problem solving in the nuclear industry, she had developed rigorous attention to detail.  Her prior experience in data collection and analysis, construction administration, specification review and code and regulation interpretation and compliance make her a trusted quality assurance team member.

Since joining Vogt Engineering in January or 2016, Ms. Saavedra has used her expertise to perform storm calculations, design, and prepare engineering reports, and ensure code compliance.  Robby is committed to producing safe, high quality and cost effective solutions to civil engineering challenges.

Tracy Matheny
CAD Designer

Ms. Matheny graduated from Grayson College with an A.S. in CADD Technology in 2014. Her strong work ethic and attention to detail are assets she uses for quality control and project research.

Ms. Matheny's experience includes land development conduit design, preparation of permitting packages, traffic control plans, and utility and paving layouts.
